Cafe Shuga
8200 Dixon Ave in Silver Spring, MD (inside Solaire Social)
This sister coffee spot to African-inspired ice cream shop Shuga x Ice is brewing similar flavors with their Vanilla Moringa Latte, Milo Mocha, Mint Baobab Paloma, and Honey Sesame Latte, as well as Moringa and Moroccan Mint teas

The Dome at Hi-Lawn collab with Chris Pyrate
1309 5th St NE (Union Market’s rooftop)
The 50-foot spherical dome topping Union Market will be in full bloom this April in a new collaboration with DC-born designer & artist Chris Pyrate. The dome previously featured an immersive 90-minute lightshow experience using a 360 overhead projection, so one can expect more breathtaking themed scenery, this time using Pyrate’s signature pink cherry blossoms, as well as a new springtime menu

Acclaimed chef Eric Adjepong’s first-ever restaurant opened on 14th Street in February, serving contemporary West African dishes like chofi, chichinga, chibom omelettes, & more

A neighborhood bar from the founders of RegMoPromo is opening on U Street with signature cocktails and menu items like oxtail pupusas, crispy broccoli & cauliflower chips, and Korean short ribs with crispy rice 

Flight Club
641 New York Ave NW
Upscale fairground-inspired bar where dart-throwing is the main draw. The space is 21+ all day on Saturdays and after 6p Sunday – Friday, and the menu is stacked with foodie fun picks like cotton candy, lobster elote dip, a smoked salmon flatbread, churros, & drink towers for the bottomless mimosas at brunch

Fraîche
3345 14th St NW
Richmond, VA native & YouTuber chef Matt Price made his virtual kitchen IRL with this cross-cultural Columbia Heights spot. Taking over the former Creole on 14th spot location, Fraîche (“fresh” in French) offers a melting pot of menu items, such as oxtail meatballs, mambo sauce fried snapper, Bay Area-inspired garlic noodles, & more

The Jerk Pit (Black-owned) (new location)

After 20 years in College Park, MD, this authentic Jamaican cuisine spot has opened up a new location in Adams Morgan. The new spot has a lounge and rooftop, where they offer bottomless brunch and host parties  

KATA (Black & Asian-owned)

DC’s first Asian Tapas Cocktail experience opens 3/14 across from Capital One Arena. The collaboration between The Burns Brothers & chef Tim Ma will take over the former Oriental Building Association community center with small plates like miso-garlic marinated and crusted sea bass and teriyaki glazed duck breast, sushi rolls, ramen, & specialty cocktails served in a sleek setting underneath warm, vibe-y LED lighting.

The Muni

This golf-themed Logan Circle bar is in full swing with simulators, darts, & more games paired with a straight-forward menu with bites like chicken tenders, pizza, & fries, and drinks like the Breakfast Ball (vodka, light beer, orange juice, & champagne) and the Don Daly (Don Julio Silver, lemonade, iced tea) 

Pink Tiger on the Wharf
751 Wharf Street SW 
Offering Asian American cuisine with sake flights, a variety of martinis, and menu items like hot crab rangoon dip with sriracha cream cheese. Opened in Kaliwa’s old space on NYE

SAGRADA Mia Sancutary

This newly-opened Mexican cuisine spot is serving up a psychedelic experience on the second floor of MI VIDA’s Logan Circle location. The plant-based and flexitarian tasting menus explore the use of psilocybin, the active ingredient in psychedelic mushrooms, via dishes that reflect the stages of a psychedelic journey curated with indigenous ingredients and ancient techniques. A portion of all proceeds supports the groundbreaking research of the Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research at Johns Hopkins University.
